Description

The Platform Services Team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company's platform solutions. This includes creating tools, documentation, modules, cloud infrastructure, and applications that facilitate the usage and improve the scalability and quality of the solutions done by Product Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using best practices and modern cloud technologies in our Platform solutions.
• Work with other engineers to develop and deploy new features and find improvement areas of quality, performance, and reliability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
• Work with Product Managers to understand and implement their requirements.
• Work with other engineers on the Platform Team to build, improve, and maintain our Platform.
• Design and develop APIs following RESTful principles for seamless integration with external systems.
• Conduct thorough testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing, to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Optimize database performance and design efficient data storage solutions.
• Implement event-driven architectures to enable real-time processing and scalability.
• Contribute to technical and non-technical documentation for the rest of the organization.
• Ensure that your solutions are well monitored using New Relic.
• Work on features, guardrails, standards, and maintenance of our Platform Services such as GraphQL Federation,, Backstage as Developer Portal, Communications services, Kafka Events Platform, Rules Engine, Orchestration Platform, etc.
• Hands-on cloud technologies such as AWS Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, Dynamodb, RDS Aurora, ECS Fargate, Application Load Balancers, IAM, Secrets Manager, etc. Everything is managed with Terraform.

What are we looking for:

• 3+ years of experience designing and building full-stack efficient and reliable services in Cloud environments over serverless technologies.
• 1+ years experience architecting and provisioning scalable and well-designed Cloud solutions.
• General understanding of managing AWS Infrastructure using Terraform (IaC).
• Strong understanding of API design principles and experience in API development of RESTful APIs using Frameworks like Nest.js (Node), FastAPI (Python), or similar.
• Experience in serverless computing services such as AWS Lambda and ECS Fargate.
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis). using best practices like performance tuning, normalization, conventions, and migrations.
• Proven experience using containerization and building systems like Docker.
• Experience in event-bus systems like SNS, EventBridge, and Apache Kafka. Design scalable event-driven architectures.
• High proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript (with Node.js/Typescript), using effectively best practices, principles, and patterns of OOP and Functional programming.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python) and UNIX systems
• Hands-on experience in modern CI/CD tools and practices over GitLab or similar.
• General understanding of source control methodologies, GitFlow styles, and branching models.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, high-performance software solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working under Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

• Experience designing and implementing Microservices and Event-driven Architectures at Enterprise-level scale.
• Strong knowledge of Design Systems at Scale (load balancing, caching, sharding, autoscaling, etc).
• Worked on design, development and deployment of Third-party integrations via HTTP, Webhooks, and Event streaming.
• Certification in Cloud Platforms such as AWS Solutions Architect or similar.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• General understanding of modern Front-end Frameworks / Libraries like React.js, Next.js or similar.
• Experience in Observability tools, implementing logging, monitoring, and alerting.
