CloudTask is replacing its CTO and CPO. We’re not looking for a legacy engineering leader or a UI designer pretending to understand architecture. We need a single operator who can own the full product and tech roadmap across an AI-driven marketplace.
You will lead Product, UX, AI, data, and technical decision‑making.
Contractors and AI agents will write most of the code.
Your job is strategy, systems, execution, and accountability.

Mission
Build CloudTask into the world’s top marketplace for hiring vetted GTM and RevOps talent by owning the product experience end‑to‑end, increasing marketplace velocity, improving UX, strengthening reliability, and integrating AI across buyer and seller workflows.
Your mission is simple:
Make CloudTask’s product faster, smarter, clearer, and more automated — every quarter.
What You’ll Own
Product Leadership
- Full ownership of the product roadmap for buyers, remote candidates, agencies, and software sellers.
- Build and maintain simple, high‑clarity workflows across the marketplace.
- Prioritize features based on business value, conversion impact, and data — not opinions.
UX and Frontend Direction
- Own Figma and UX standards.
- Bring the marketplace to a clean, intuitive 9th‑grade reading level.
- Ensure search, filters, profiles, and listing pages feel premium and fast.
- Validate experiences with real users weekly.
AI‑First Delivery
- Integrate AI agents into onboarding, verification, QA, matching, and profile scoring.
- Build automated buyer and seller journeys powered by AI, not humans.
- Partner with the CEO to implement autonomous workflows via Comet and other AI tools.
Technical Architecture & Governance
(You are not expected to be the primary coder.)
- Own AWS, Cloudflare, Auth0, Stripe Connect architecture decisions.
- Manage contractors for backend (Ruby), frontend (React), and DevOps tasks.
- Ensure clean GitHub discipline and zero “shadow access.”
- Maintain uptime and security standards.
- Oversee integrations across HubSpot, Beehiiv, Zapier, Mixpanel, and internal AI systems.
- Implement Mixpanel properly.
Marketplace Reliability & Data
- Own marketplace uptime and performance.
- Create dashboards that track conversion, funnel drop‑off, and search performance.
- Ensure candidate profiles, job openings, and agency listings are clean and structured.
- Drive SEO improvements through technical and structural fixes.
Cross‑Functional Execution
- Tie product decisions directly to revenue, GMV, and buyer/seller success.
- Collaborate with Remote Career Coaches, Marketing, and Ops to close gaps.
- Assume full responsibility for delivery — no excuses.
What Success Looks Like in 6 Months
- Talent and job listings follow a clear, unified structure.
- Buyer and seller journeys are simple, clean, and predictable.
- Marketplace search and matching accuracy dramatically improves.
- Profile scoring + verification runs with AI assistance.
- Analytics (Mixpanel + GA4) give the business complete visibility.
- All marketplace‑critical tools (Stripe, Auth0, AWS, HubSpot) are documented and governed.
- No open tech access risks after the CTO offboarding.
- You execute faster with AI than most teams deliver with 10 engineers.
Ideal Candidate
You are not a traditional CTO or pure designer. You're a Product Technologist built for AI‑era startups.

- Strong product instinct

- Experience building or running marketplace products
- Demonstrated AI‑first thinking (actual tools, not buzzwords)
- Ability to move fast with contractors, not internal teams
- Comfortable owning architecture without coding everything

- Can simplify complex systems
Required Experience
- 5+ years in product, technology, or marketplace roles
- Experience using or integrating AI/automation tools
- Comfortable with AWS, Auth0, Stripe, databases, APIs
- Hands‑on with Figma, React‑based frontend standards
- Strong understanding of UX and conversion principles
- Experience managing engineers (contractors or in‑house)
Preferred Experience
- Built or scaled a marketplace
- Exposure to HubSpot, Beehiiv, Zapier, Mixpanel
- Experience with B2B SaaS or hiring/talent platforms
- Familiar with Ruby on Rails (understanding, not coding)
