Role Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting efforts for multiple ClimateTech startups located across North America and the UK, performing monthly accounting duties, including recording of transactions in the general ledger, updating of accounting schedules, creation of journal entries, and monthly close of books.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as Quickbooks and Xero, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review, identifying key trends and variance in financial performance.
• Manage client’s payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions, using software such as Gusto, Bill.com, Rippling, and others.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc report preparation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial information and support decision-making processes.
• Contribute to the development of a remote, flexible, and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Finance Associate role will have:

• 3-5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience in Big 4 accounting (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC), investment banking, or a similar high-caliber role
• Excellent general knowledge of finance and accounting frameworks including an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) license
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and general analytical abilities
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and prioritize among competing deliverables
• A positive mindset, strong work ethic, and eagerness to collaborate and learn
• A commitment to sustainability and driving positive planetary impact

Hours, Pay & Benefits:

• This role is fully remote and flexible.

• Occasional meetings will be required with US & UK-based team members and clients
• Beginning salary range of $40-60k USD annually for full-time roles, subject to experience
